Why should the somberness of Lent get forty days, and the celebration of Easter only one morning?

People often wonder why today is called “Good” Friday. For the disciples and those he loved, it was everything but good; it was a day of despair and death, of seeing dreams dashed and a loved one killed. A day that left them so bereft and terrified that they huddled together in a small upper room for the next several days, weeping and consoling each other? What could possibly be good about today?
